American Reading Company Goes Solar Powered

American Reading Company (ARC) will be powered 100% by solar energy, coming from a solar panel system installed on its own roof. The 313-kilowatt system will provide all the power needed to run the 11-acre campus in King of Prussia. The shift to green energy embodies ARC’s commitment to doing its part to protect the environment. “As a triple bottom line company (people, planet, profit), we are proud that our new SunPower system will help us reduce carbon emissions and out impact on the planet,” said ARC CEO and Founder Jane Hileman.

ARC has a proud history of decisions and partnerships that positively impact the environment. Since 2010, ARC has printed all 600 titles from the ARC Press publishing house with an EPA certified green U.S. company, AZ Lithographers, powered by 100% renewable energy and using only low VOC vegetable inks. From big changes like solar panels to small changes like using only organic, fair trade coffee and sugar in their offices, ARC continues its work towards an environmentally and socially responsible business model.
