ARC Press Authors Visit Printing Partner AZ Litho

ARC Press, American Reading Company’s emergent reader publishing arm, had a unique opportunity this week to do a press check on site at AZ Litho, 2,000 miles from our King of Prussia headquarters.

As a triple bottom line company (People, Planet, Profit), ARC Press is proud to print all ARC Press titles with AZ Litho, which uses 100% Renewable Energy resources in production and is certified by the EPA as a green company.

By using AZ Litho for this press run of 53 books, the environmental impact was equal to:

  • 25,361 lbs of Carbon Emissions not emitted

  • 27 Barrels of Natural Gas not being used

  • 2.25 average cars’ mileage for a year being taken off the road

  • 1,725 new trees planted

“With 53 books on the table at once, being close in proximity to the pre-press process and speaking with those that work with our books has been a great experience,” says Robbie Byerly.

Feeling like kids in a candy store, authors and designers Robbie Byerly, Kristina Rupp, and Traci Dibble were fascinated with the equipment and steps it takes to produce a book from a digital image to dry ink on paper. The authors were filled with pride for their work as they saw pages of the ARC Press books repurposed to decorate cubicles and bulletin boards, and employees shared animal facts that they learned from the books.
