Books Without Borders

For years, the AMETEK Foundation and American Reading Company have joined forces in several U.S. schools to create a culture of reading—an effort that results in higher test scores and increased literacy overall. Now that long-running partnership has expanded to include Il Polei Primary School, a village school 3 hours from Nairobi, Kenya.

The 620 PreK through Grade 8 students at Il Polei were excited to open and explore boxes of new books recently. We know that reading can set each of us on the path to achievement and success; the looks on these faces are all we needed to see to know that the love of books knows no borders.
