Bright Futures in the Golden West
This year, Reynolds School District in Oregon is implementing a promising new literacy strategy that includes American Reading Company’s Independent Reading Level Assessment (IRLA) and professional development. Reynolds faces challenges shared by many districts across the country: Nearly three-fourths of students come from low-income households, and the 60 percent of the school population from various ethnic groups includes many kids who are learning English as a second language. The exciting changes taking place are sure to position the students, schools, and district for measurable success, and we’re looking forward to watching it all unfold!
