PAWTUCKET – Shyla Robinson, a 3rd-grade student at Potter-Burns Elementary School, can now check published author off her to-do list.

Shyla, whose book “The Adventures of Fonzy the Puppy,” which she wrote about her dog last year as a 2nd-grade student in Marilyn Banigan’s class, is now published on the American Reading Company’s website. As part of her grand prize, Shyla received $100 from ARC in exchange for the rights for her book, as well as sample copies to pass out to family and friends.

“It’s exciting,” Shyla told The Breeze about having her book published. “I really like writing. When you’re writing you have thoughts in your head that spill out onto the paper.”
